Contemporary culture is disconnected from the byproducts of its lifestyle. We are removed from the observation of our effect on the environment, and this removal leads us to assume that there is no consequence for the convenience of utility, but this is false, and is a product of an “out of sight, out of mind” mentality. By linking the physical destruction of unutilized material with the luxury of amenity, the installation denounces the idea of invisible repercussions and challenges the observer’s limits of consumption.
